Luhrmann’s approach of loosely interpreting the essence of the story (and even adding to that) may seem radical, but in the end proves to be the best and most entertaining choice for a twenty-first century audience. The Great Gatsby is and should not be a documentary after all.

Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters (2013)

How about fairy tales? Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters is Hollywood’s next attempt to popularize the fairy tale franchise even more. What a bust: it’s an incredibly tiresome movie to watch.

The Host (2013)

The Host proves to be suitable for the hardcore Twilight fans, but lacks so many things that I’ll doubt even they will find it an enjoyable spectacle.

Iron Man 3 (2013)

The successful sequel to the first two Iron Man movies and The Avengers has been brought together exceptionally well. The only question that remains is whether the new Iron Man is better than before or is just another part in the Marvel Comics franchise.
