A struggling songwriter, Dave Seville (Jason Lee) finds his luck when he comes across a trio of singing chipmunks: naughty leader Alvin, brainy Simon and chubby Theodore. Dave makes an agreement with them. The Chipmunks can sleep in Dave’s house, but they instead have to sing his songs. The three singing chipmunks get popular and Dave gets happy after all. However, that success has got its own problems as the unprincipled record executive, Ian Hawke (David Cross), plans to break up this family and exploit the boys only for money. Can Dave and the Chipmunks discover what they really value amid the superficial glamour around them?
Alvin and the Chipmunks keeps you laughing until the end. The chipmunks have had an extraordinary visual contribution, especially to their faces. The trio have been portrayed stereotypically differently. Fun to watch.
