Bye bye 2012! Earlier we looked at Elemental Reviews’ Top 10 Movies of 2012. And now is the time to look forward. What kind of movies can we expect in 2013? We have already been promised some very exciting titles. Zack Snyder’s highly anticipated Man of Steel and Tony Stark in Iron Man 3 are just some of the few we can get excited about. So let’s start with the Top 13 Most Anticipated Movies of 2013, brought to you by Elemental Reviews’ brightest movie addict.
13. Thor 2: The Dark World
I can’t wait for Thor to battle this time the ancient race of Dark Elves! It sounds so fun… Anyway, the first Thor movie starring Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman wasn’t that bad. In fact, I really enjoyed the new kind of superhero as I’m unfamiliar with the comics. And after the Avengers last summer, I really want to see some Thor action! Who doesn’t?!
12. The Hangover Part III
This time, there is no wedding. No bachelor party. What could go wrong right? Well.. everything will go wrong. It’s been too long, really, since I have seen Galifianakis on the screens.
11. Anchorman: The Legend Continues
Exactly… The legend continues. And shoe promotion.
10. Pain and Gain
Michael Bay. Mark Wahlberg. And Dwayne Johnson. Pain and Gain’s surprising trailer revealed we get some Wahlberg comedy mixed with Dwayne Johnson’s six-pack and Bay’s explosive thoughts.
9. The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug
Of course. The Hobbit franchise needs to go on and I am really wondering whether the producers have improved the story into a more fitting movie. So yes, I do want to give The Hobbit another chance.
8. After Earth
Jaden and Will Smith in action. Father and Son explore a planet that was evacuated by humans 1000 years earlier. Seems legit, right? Although it’s a Shyamalan movie, and well.. let’s say he hasn’t improved over all these years of moviemaking – I just want to go to the theatres to see the Smiths.
7. The Wolverine
X-men goes exotic. We will travel to Japan with Wolverine so we watch him learn some samurai moves. Starring Hugh Jackman and Famke Janssen (rumored), I have always been secretly in love with the X-men movie series.
6. A Good Day to Die Hard
After The Expendables 1 and 2 we have seen a lot of 80s on the screen lately. And so A Good Day to Die Hard tops them all! This time Bruce Willis as the badass cop McClane will work together with his son (he has one?!) Jack to defeat some Russians. Typical. Old school. Pure action.
5. Star Trek Into Darkness
Let me get this straight: J.J. Abrams and Star Trek. Close your eyes. Think about it. How excited are you?! I am! And although I’m not one of those know-everything fans of the Star Trek franchise, I think this movie will become a huge hit.
4. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
When the Harry Potter movies had stopped coming the Twilight Saga took control. Unfortunately. But now, I am really glad the Hunger Games is taking over. Reading the books, I am dying to see Katniss once again in the twisted and sick game of President Snow.
3. Oblivion
Joseph Kosinski’s (Tron: Legacy) upcoming sci-fi spectacle starring the one and only Tom Cruise has blown my mind – just the watching the trailer only! “On a spectacular future earth that has evolved beyond recognition, one man’s confrontation with the past will lead him on a journey of redemption and discovery as he battles to save mankind.” That sounds so cool!
2. Iron Man 3
Darker. That is Iron Man 3. The main antagonist in this movie is the Mandarin. Pepper will be in danger, but will Iron Man / Stark be able to save her? Iron Man 3 really has inherited the darker hero genes we have already seen in The Dark Knight Rises. Hopefully it will end well.
1. Man of Steel
The most powerful hero, earth’s oldest guardian, Superman returns on yet another version of his well-known story. When I heard Zack Snyders and Chris Nolan worked on this Superman movie, I was irritated at first. I mean, after CW’s Smallville, all the questions have been answered? Yes, that would be right. I changed my mind though, because Superman’s legend never dies.

Anchorman 2, 2nd part of Hobbit trilogy, Iron Man 3, and The Wolverine are the only titles I will see in theatres. The rest look like a giant skip
What about Man of Steel? The trailer looks promising
